Scotland's Agent Hits Out At Swansea Fans

Jason Scotland's agent Mike Berry has hit out at the Swansea fans who criticised the striker, calling them a 'disgrace'.

Although he admits that 95% of supporters liked our top goalscorer, he has criticised the 5% who didn't give their support to the 30 year-old.

"I can't see him doing it in the Premiership but wish him all the best, time to move on now."
His agent is right, it has to be said, but whether there was a need to tell the media that is another question.

Scotland's style of play irritated some fans, some saying he was lazy while others highly respected him for the number of goals he scored in 2 seasons with us - 53.

The Trinidad and Tobago international arrived at the club soon after Lee Trundle departed to join Bristol City in a £1m deal. It was always going to be difficult for him to replace a fans' favourite like Trundle but he did in terms of the number of goals he scored.

A lot of fans missed Trundle's excitement factor - his showboating and skills was entertaining, whereas Scotland lacked the ability to do the same.

Mike Berry told the Evening Post:

'Ninety five per cent of the fans loved him. We won't talk about the other five per cent,'

'The criticism he got from the five per cent was nothing short of a disgrace.'

Jason Scotland left the club in high regard, and respects Swansea City for providing him with the opportunity to make his dreams of playing in the Premiership a reality.

If I recall corectly, we secured Scotland right at the end of the seson and agreed a small fee for him. The intention was to play him with Trundle. LT didn't leave us until July. I hope that Mike Berry does not have any other clients at our club.

agreed, his agent it a douche. how can you target 5% of the supporters in the press? I bet a lot of journalists are laughing at him. Thats like Obama winning the election in the states all "only 95% of the country likes you obama." n he turns aroudn and says "what?? thats a disgrace, the other 95% do!"

I didnt see any specifically bad comments, but hey, shame such a talented player has management like that. Anyway for JS the Prem is a big stage, and I just hope he can move up to the level required and bag even a few nice goals in his final years as a player - just a shame we couldnt have given him that experience.
