Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson says he will look at other targets if he's not successful with his final £3.5m offer for Ferrie Bodde.
The Premiership side could fail in their attempts at signing the Dutchman, as their £3.5m bid, which has been rejected, is their final offer for the midfielder.
There has been conflicting stories regarding their interest in Bodde. The Bolton News believe that Megson is confident that the 27 year-old will be joining his squad in their pre-season Austria tour next week, even though he's still in Holland recovering from a knee ligament injury. Now however, Megson is likely to miss out as he says he will not make an improved bid after his final offer was turned down.
The local rag also reported yesterday that Wanderers were hoping to sort out an agreement with Bodde's former club Ado Den Haag to change the terms of the 50% clause in his contract. Swansea want £5m for the player and half of the fee would be paid to the Dutch club.
Gary Megson said:
'We have made an offer for Ferrie,'
'We are where we are with that one and if Swansea do want to do business it will be on the price we have last done at.
'Otherwise we will move on because we have got one or two midfielders here that I am pleased with and every player has their price so we won't go above what we have offered so far.'
Ferrie Bodde has expressed a desire to leave Swansea City to join a Premiership club. While he looks like missing out on a chance to move to the Reebok Stadium, Roberto Martinez has yet to come in with a bid so far.![]()
