Lopez Keen To Link Up With Sousa At Swansea

Jordi Lopez's has spoken out again saying the midfielder is keen to link with Paulo Sousa again at Swansea City.

by ystradjack
"He has the potential to be a good signing, we need him on a 2 or 3 year deal though"
The UEFA Cup winner played under Sousa for a few months at QPR but he has turned down a new contract with the London club.

Lopez has been targetted by other clubs but he was keen to see if working with Sousa against at Swansea was a possibility.

The player has held talks with the club last week and he's now waiting for Swansea City to offer him a contract.

His agent, Alex Bonnot told the Evening Post:

'Jordi was put in a difficult position last season, then we had an opportunity for him to be back in the shop window with QPR,'

'That was through Paulo Sousa. They had a very good relationship even though they were there for only a short period.

'They got on very well and they had a good understanding on the football side. For a manager and a player that's very important.

'When Paulo got the job at Swansea he got in touch with us and said he would like Jordi to come there.

'We were talking to other clubs, but Jordi was always waiting to see what would happen with Paulo.

'Jordi admires Paulo as a manager and Paulo admires Jordi as a player.'

I hope he signs, I think he'd be a really good player for us. A good defender in next I hope.

yea i agree plus he's also quite defensively minded aswel which is something i think we missed.

I don't think we weren't defensive enough in midfield, the midfield protected the defence well it was just the defence was sloppy at times and we conceded silly goals far too often
