Bolton To End Attempts At Signing Bodde?

There has been a number of conflicting stories regarding Bolton Wanderers and their interest in Ferrie Bodde.

The Evening Post first reported that Bolton were going to make a slightly improved offer for the midfielder, but the following day the club denied they had received a new bid from the Premiership club.

However, The Bolton News believe that Gary Megson is ready to end his attempts at signing Bodde and move on to other targets as his final bid failed.

Although Swansea City denied receiving a second bid, the Bolton News said that our chairman Huw Jenkins refused to publicly confirm the new bid.

Vital Bolton criticised Huw Jenkins for making the initial £2.5m bid public as well as demanding a £5m fee for a player that hasn't played since November 2008.

If the news is actually true that Bolton are set to end their interests then this is a boost for the club, but us fans are still left with the feeling that Ferrie Bodde is keen to leave us for a Premiership side. Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic has still yet to make a bid for the Dutchman, whether he will or not remains to be seen.

I hope this is right, but like it says, there's different people reporting different things about bolton and bodde.

I think Bodde will start the season with us, look to play well and earn himself a move to the Premiership in the January transfer window.

i have a feeling that martinez is gona come in for him.

Doubt he'd bid the £5m we're asking for though

Even £2.5M is a lot of money to pay for someone who even now is still not fit enough to start training.

I hope he stays but would be better if he can play with us & see us all into the Premiership for next season. With all the building RM did, he'd at least understand our valuation implications on Bodde, but lets hope he or anyone doesn't jump in before we've had a chance to see him, and the team play together first (even Scotland).

Should have sold him to Bolton :-( You'll be sorry.

No we won't!
