Bodde Responds To Sousa's Comments

Bodde Responds To Sousa's Comments

Ferrie Bodde has responded to Paulo Sousa's criticisms after he missed training on Monday, saying it's simply a mis-understanding between him and the club.

New manager Paulo Sousa said the midfielder was being disrespectful to the club after failing to appear for training on Monday at his request.

Swansea City has banned Bodde from speaking to the press but he told Voetbal International:

''The reports amaze me,''

''The arrangement was that I return to Wales on Wednesday. I am at the rehabilitation centre in the Netherlands now.

''Suddenly I was rung by the English papers, websites and my team-mates.

''The arrangement wasn't known by Sousa, it's actually just a mis-understanding.

'I have too much respect for the club to cause an argument. They gave me my chance in England and for that I will always be grateful.

''I've also always been loyal to Swansea. I could have earned significantly more with Derby County, but then I signed a new contract here. My teammates have told me that they have no doubts at all about my loyalty.'

He was late back last summer with Derby interest. This year it is Bolton who are interested. So is it the old management to blame? - and they are no longer here, having now all gone to Wigan.

Latest I've heard is that he has met with Manager & Chairman today. After checking with the Surgeon that operated on his knee, he is going back to Holland for another 2 weeks before returning. In that case, I don't believe he has been fined.
