Swansea City To Miss Out On Anderson

Swansea City look set to lose out on Liverpool winger Paul Anderson as he is expected to join Nottingham Forest on a 3-year deal, according to speculation.

The Swans had a bid for Paul Anderson accepted by Liverpool this Summer but after a change in manager, talks broke down on signing the young winger.

He was a keen target for Roberto Martinez but Paulo Sousa will have his own targets in mind for the club.

Anderson enjoyed a successful season-long loan at the Liberty Stadium in 2007/2008 season, helping us win the League One title but he opted to join Nottingham Forest the following year, rather than extending his loan with us.

Forest boss Billy Davies said he was interested in signing Anderson permanently and it's highly likely that he will join the City Ground club next week.

He snubbed us last year, so I didn't expect him to come back this season.

Thats twice in 2 seasons your chairman's gobbed off about getting Anderson and twice he's chosen forest over you. He might learn his lesson now...maybe he should be more professional and keep it shut. UUUUUUU REEEEEDSSSSS!!!!

Gobbed off? All he said was that a bid had been agreed but we had to wait and see if Anderson wanted to join us, nothing was said by the chairman that he was signing. Our new manager will have his own targets and wherever Anderson ends up next season it won't be with Swansea.

Swansea's bid with Liverpool for Anderson is off, we've withdrawn our interest, he won't be joining us, it's a fact, but whether or not he's joining Forest remains to be seen.

He'll join. Our chairman and manager quietly go about their business unlike some i could mention. He loves it at Forest and he'll be there again next season

I'd put money on it andy as it all adds up, Forest want him, Anderson wants Forest, Liverpool want to sell, Forest want to buy and a bid has probably been agreed long ago.

Knowing Forest it'll probably fall through!!! Shame for you lot that you lost Martinez, you must be gutted. Top manager.

easier to chose a team with less talent to make sure of a place, would have to fight to get in our team

Someone else connected with swansea with too much to say. why do you want him so much then? This next season won't be like the last mark my words.

I don't want him that much to be honest, you can have him, it's no great loss at all. We were gutted at first with Martinez, but his replacement looks awesome to me. I mean with you, if you get into the Prem, sack Davies, after all, he'll embarrass you like he did with Derby. Billy who?

I know he isn't coming, i've known it for ages, sousa will bring in some quality anyway where as your manager is limited to big money buys in the over-inflated british market. he is injury prone, he'll play half a season for you maybe.

we want him because he's good, but he himself is choosing the easier option, if you think we have to much to say why come here? secretly admire our team eh? Jack in disguise eh?

agreed, he's not certain to get a first team place with us, he probably will with you lot. Not to worry, we'll get some Portuguese youngster in instead.

Wake up. Choosing the easier option?! Makes me laugh how you think you're a bigger club than Forest! He'd walk straight into your team and you know it. I came on here to wind you up cyjax and that didn't work did it?! Is cyjax welsh for *****?

Bigger? No? Better? we are without question. We went up along with you, we were successful you were ****. Anderson would not walk into our side. you know **** all. We've signed Dyer for 400,000, he'd be competing with him over the place if he was to join us.

Nope, I'm feeling good that our little club is a lot better than yours. 8th, you finished 19th, wow, what an achievement, especially with all that money you wasted on players.

You aint got a clue, we've hardly spent anything since we went up we had virtually the same squad we had in league 1. To be honest the Championship's a hard league and 1st season back up i'm happy we're just still in it we can progress from there next season now our chairman's finally on about spending a bit of money. If you think we're a rich club you're wrong. David Platt made sure of that when he wasted about 20million on s h i t players then left us in ruins. We're finally getting back closer to where we should be and i think we'll be quite good this season. Get your facts straight kid

if we finished 8th, why couldn't you? we didn't much money and our team was virtually the same barring one or 2 players, after all you are much bigger and wealthier than us!!

i had to laugh at one of the comments above.. "forest went up and spent hardly any money!" how much did Earnshaw cost exactly? they spent more on one player than we've spent in our history, and we're 11 places better off. we always said in League One that Forest were living on reputation and not reality, now they're in the Championship they think they're special? Keep it going Swans, we all believe you'll be up there again next season.. WITHOUT WASTING LOTS OF MONEY!

Forest fan in peace here. I have to say we've got a bargain at 250k, whether he plays regularly or not. Where d'you really think Swansea and Forest will finish up in the league next year? And what makes a club 'big'?!

It has been reported that Swanse were waiting for Anderson or his Agent to contact the club. A courtesy call from either to say "No Thank You" would have been nice.
