Swansea City To Miss Out On Anderson

Swansea City To Miss Out On Anderson

Swansea City look set to lose out on Liverpool winger Paul Anderson as he is expected to join Nottingham Forest on a 3-year deal, according to speculation.

The Swans had a bid for Paul Anderson accepted by Liverpool this Summer but after a change in manager, talks broke down on signing the young winger.

He was a keen target for Roberto Martinez but Paulo Sousa will have his own targets in mind for the club.

Anderson enjoyed a successful season-long loan at the Liberty Stadium in 2007/2008 season, helping us win the League One title but he opted to join Nottingham Forest the following year, rather than extending his loan with us.

Forest boss Billy Davies said he was interested in signing Anderson permanently and it's highly likely that he will join the City Ground club next week.

He snubbed us last year, so I didn't expect him to come back this season.

neither did i willow

i did, but obviously no one will have spoken to him since Judus left us

Thats twice in 2 seasons your chairman's gobbed off about getting Anderson and twice he's chosen forest over you. He might learn his lesson now...maybe he should be more professional and keep it shut. UUUUUUU REEEEEDSSSSS!!!!

Gobbed off? All he said was that a bid had been agreed but we had to wait and see if Anderson wanted to join us, nothing was said by the chairman that he was signing. Our new manager will have his own targets and wherever Anderson ends up next season it won't be with Swansea.

Swansea's bid with Liverpool for Anderson is off, we've withdrawn our interest, he won't be joining us, it's a fact, but whether or not he's joining Forest remains to be seen.
27/06/2009 12:24:00
He'll join. Our chairman and manager quietly go about their business unlike some i could mention. He loves it at Forest and he'll be there again next season

I'd put money on it andy as it all adds up, Forest want him, Anderson wants Forest, Liverpool want to sell, Forest want to buy and a bid has probably been agreed long ago.

Knowing Forest it'll probably fall through!!! Shame for you lot that you lost Martinez, you must be gutted. Top manager.

easier to chose a team with less talent to make sure of a place, would have to fight to get in our team
