Swansea City Reject Bolton's Bodde Bid

Swansea City have today rejected Bolton's bid for Ferrie Bodde, worth to be around £2.5m.

Bolton boss Gary Megson is keen to sign the Dutch midfielder despite the fact that he hasn't played a game since November 2008 after suffering a knee ligament injury.

Swansea City want a big fee for Bodde and they value him at around £5m, in which half would go to his former club Ado Den Haag due to a 50% sell on clause in his contract.

Huw Jenkins revealed recently that Bodde has shown a desire to leave the club and has set his sights on playing Premiership football.

The Swansea chairman told the Official site:

'We received a written offer from Bolton yesterday,''

'The offer was worth around £2.5m.

'We believe Ferrie is worth a lot more than that and as a result we officially turned the offer down today. In fact, we do not want to sell any of our players.''

Roberto Martinez bought Bodde for just £50,000 in Summer 2007 and he has proved to be one our best players.

He has yet to meet new manager Paulo Sousa as he is in Holland to step up his rehabilitation from a cruciate knee injury.
