Sousa Delighted To Commit To Swansea

Paulo Sousa made a huge charismatic impression early this afternoon when he was unveiled as Swansea City's new manager in front of the media.

The former Portuguese international signs a 3-year deal with Swansea City and he is looking forward to bringing success to the club in the near future.

He comes across as extremely professional, someone who has complete self belief and confidence in his managerial ability to deliver success.

The 38 year-old says he knows of the players in the squad and has watched them in action when he was manager of QPR. His side beat the Swans at Loftus Road last season 1-0. The squad will return on Thursday when they will meet the new gaffer.

Paulo Sousa didn't have it easy-going at QPR, it's safe to say. The board seemed to be too involved and were reluctant to leave the job entirely to the seemingly capable hands of Paulo.

He was sacked by QPR's wealthy owners for revealing confidential information, which was Dexter Blackstock joining Nottingham Forest on loan without his knowledge.

You could also question what and how much involvement he had with the signings the club made during his 5-month spell at QPR. One thing is for sure though is that Huw Jenkins will leave Paulo Sousa to concentrate completely in the job in hand.

Paulo Sousa told the Official Site:

'I am a special person with a lot of ambition,''

'I aim to use all my knowledge, convictions and commitments to help the club progress and build strong foundations.

'I believe in my knowledge and what I can do for the club. My philosophy is the same as the club's and I am delighted to commit myself to Swansea.

'Everyone has been very friendly since I arrived and I feel the chairman and all the staff that work at the club are committed to supporting me.

'I expect commitment from everyone, because the club needs to be above every individual, from players, staff, manager, everyone; that is our philosophy.

'We want to build and important family here, where we can always be happy.'

Although it's not been officially confirmed, Paulo Sousa is expected to be joined by Bruno Oliveira, who will work alongside him as his assistant. A Spaniard and an Australian are also set to join him in an all-new backroom staff.
