Swansea Put £3m Price Tag On Scotland

Swansea City have put a £3m asking price on striker Jason Scotland, after Burnley's bid didn't come close to our valuation of the player.

The newly-promoted Premiership bidded just over £1m for our top goalscorer and Roberto Martinez is expected to follow up with a bid this week.

The Clarets would need to almost treble their initial bid for us to accept as Huw Jenkins is holding form over the club's star assets. He told News of the World:

'We don't need to sell him or want to sell him.

'We rejected Burnley's offer as it was way below our valuation. Goalscorers are worth their weight in gold.

'If defenders are going for £5m then he's worth far more than we've been offered.

'We don't want him to leave, it's that simple.'

Jason Scotland is out of contract next season and the Swans could risk losing him for nothing. He's 30 now and time us running out if he wants to play in the Premiership before he retires.

Contract extension with new terms maybe?
PeterGriffin
sell him now before he's worthless, we can improve the team no end with that sort of money along with the money from RM's departure
cyjax
if we get aslightly better offer then we should accept he,l jus go for free next year
james,jackarmy
Sell him for £2m, that could help us a lot, and bring in a striker with pace
GThomas
£2.5 minimum, I'd almost rather keep him and risk losing him for free as he gurantees us goals. Lets try and extend his contract and NOT become a selling club.

Gomez - 14 goals - £1.7M. Then Scotland has to be worth at least £2M & + a little bit more.

It is reported that Wolves have held talks with Reading striker Kevin Doyle - a £6.5million-rated striker. How many goals did he score? The offer for Scotland is ridiculous in comparison.
