Poyet 'Really Interested' In Swansea Job

Gus Poyet has told BBC Sport that he's ''really interested'' in the Swansea manager's job.

"I WANT POYET, I WANT POYET"
The former Swindon, Leeds and Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager is now ready for his first full manager's job and he believes Swansea City is a great opportunity for him.

Amongst the few candidates remaining, Gus Poyet and Gary Speed seem to be the most popular choices amongst the fans.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has finally been able to progress with his search for Martinez's replacement after the on-going saga which kept delaying his move to Wigan Athletic.

Poyet said:

'I would really be interested in the job,'

'I would really like to go there, it would be a great opportunity.'

Poyet, Speed and Boothroyd have all already held talks with the club and Huw Jenkins says he'll have a clearer indication of who they are going to appoint on Wednesday after interviewing one or two more people.

Jenkins said: 'Once they are out of the way, we should have a clearer picture,'

Gus Poyet has emerged as the clear favourite amongst the bookies as Sky Bet and Ladbrokes have now started offering odds on who will be appointed as our new manager.

Poyet is 1/2 and 4/6 respectively, Gary Speed is 7/2 and 6/4 and Aidy Boothroyd is 7/1.
