Martinez Delighted To Be Back At Wigan

Roberto Martinez has spoken for the first time about taking over at Wigan, but doesn't have a word to say to the Swansea City fans explaining his reasons for the move to the Latics.

The Spaniard will be joined by his managerial team of Graeme Jones, Kevin Reeves, Inaka Bergara and Oscar Brau after a compensation package was agreed for the 5 members of staff.

Swansea City fans have spoken about their frustration over Martinez's silence regarding the move, and he's still yet to explain his reasons to leave. His plans for the Swans and his loyalty statements have gone out of the window, and he is delighted to takeover the Premiership club, he told their Official Site:

'I am looking forward to getting stuck in and taking on teams in the best league in the world.

'I cannot wait for my first game at the DW stadium. It seems like a long time away, but there is a lot of work to do before then.

'The club has done incredibly well over the past five years, firstly getting into the Premier League and staying there; last year not only staying there but pushing higher up the table. I want to carry on the good work Steve Bruce did here.''

'So much has changed at the club since I was here as a player and there have been fantastic improvements both on and off the pitch.

'I am really looking forward to working again with the chairman and everyone at the club. I am sure we can build on what has already been achieved'
