Plenty Of Interest In Swansea City Job

Plenty Of Interest In Swansea City Job

Wales Online believe that Swansea City have received around 50 applications for the vacant manager's job left behind by Roberto Martinez.

The board will look to appoint a new manager as soon as possible but it seems they have plenty of options to consider.

The Mirror believe that Gary Speed is willing to retire as a player to take over as boss - he's currently a player assistant coach at Sheffield United.

Falkirk manager John Hughes is very much interested in the job while Coventry boss Chris Coleman and former Reading manager Steve Coppell have been ruled out of the running.

Former Swan Leighton James believes the club should appoint someone with experience, he told News of the World:

Swansea took a calculated gamble employing Roberto but the stakes are a lot higher now.

The club are a force in the Championship and have key assets worth millions.

'Now I think they need an old head and a calming influence who knows the game inside out.'

Do you agree with Leighton James? Who should we appoint as manager?
