Falkirk Boss A Possible Replacement For Martinez?

The Herald is reporting that Falkirk boss John Hughes could be a possible replacement for Roberto Martinez to become Swansea City's new manager.

The Spaniard is expected to be unveiled as Wigan's new manager tomorrow after a compensation fee was agreed between the two clubs. The Daily Mail believe it to be £1.75 million.

"I think that Coppell could do a good job for us."
John Hughes's future at Falkirk is thought to be in doubt after a rift with chairman Rod Petrie and he's already been linked with moves to Aberdeen and Hibernian.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins could make a surprise move for John Hughes and ask the Scottish Premier League side for permission to speak to the 44 year-old.

Hughes began his managerial career with Falkirk in 2003 and since then has managed 283 games, winning 117 (41%) losing 105 and drawing 61.

Hughes has been quoted before as saying - 'I never self-promote but I am at the stage where I wake in the morning and ask myself, 'Have I taken Falkirk as far as I possibly can?`" A new job at Swansea City could be an attractive new challenge for Hughes as Huw Jenkins is now looking for Martinez's successor - someone who can move the club forward and get us competing at the top of the Championship.

Former Reading boss Steve Coppell is also a popular name amongst Swansea fans as we discuss who we'd like to see as Martinez's replacement.

Who would you like to see appointed as Roberto Martinez's replacement?

Oh dear. I would be protesting now if I were a Swansea supporter. Seen as he played for Hibs and Celtic though I am bound to say that.
Dalien
Is he a good manager though? seems to have done a decent job at Falkirk

I have listened to a radio interview he has given about the Swansea job, i would be very angry at him if i were a Falkirk supporter as he states he would be "open to interviews". That's no way to treat supporters at such an early stage. He has therefore told all the clubs fans and chairman, "Anything i think is better i am off", very Roberto Esq
