Swansea City Club Statement - Martinez

Swansea City Club Statement - Martinez

Swansea City have released a statement via the official site about their reasons for giving Wigan permission to speak to Roberto Martinez.

The Spaniard's 2-year spell as manager looks set to end today as he will have talks about becoming the new boss at the JJB Stadium.

The statement says:

Swansea City can confirm that they have reluctantly given Wigan Athletic permission to speak to Roberto Martinez about the vacant Manager's position at the JJB Stadium.

Permission was granted when Wigan's offer of compensation reached the appropriate level set by Swansea City, and was only given when taking into account Roberto's own wishes.

More news will follow but it'll only be bad news for Swansea City fans.

We all at Swansea City want to play in the Premiership. Didn't think the Manager was going to go on his own.
