Wigan Look For Bruce's Replacement
Wigan Athletic will be looking for a new manager it seems as Steve Bruce has agreed terms to take over at Sunderland.
The Premiership club could compete with Celtic as both clubs have shown a keen interest in appointing Roberto Martinez as their new boss.
It looked like Steve Bruce was staying at Wigan last week as Sunderland initially ended their interest in the former Manchester United defender after the news was leaked to the press.
However, Bruce has held fresh talks with Niall Quinn after a £3m compensation package was agreed between the two parties.
The 48 year-old is expected to be unveiled as Sunderland's new manager within the next 24-48 hours and Wigan will be looking for a replacement.
The Latics' chairman Dave Whelan showed an interest last week in Roberto Martinez and with Bruce set to leave, Wigan look certain to follow Celtic and enquire about the Spaniard.
With Celtic making an official approach, and now Wigan adding themselves to the list of interested clubs, it's looking increasingly unlikely that Martinez will be here next season.
