MacDonald Called Up To Wales Squad

Shaun MacDonald gets his first call-up to John Toshack's senior Wales squad.

Toshack called up the 20 year-old for Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Azerbaijan after suffering a number of injuries within his squad.

The midfielder will join up with fellow Swansea team-mates Joe Allen, Ashley Williams and Owain Tudur-Jones on Tuesday when the squad head to Baku.

MacDonald has been a regular in Brian Flynn's under-21s side and made 9 appearances for his club last season in the Championship.

Joe Allen came on as a substitute to make his debut in Friday's 1-0 against Estonia.

not that i mean to be disrespectful to toshack or mcdonald but a player who only makes nine appearences for his championship cluib is playing international football.
