Mikoliunas Set To Join Swansea City

Former Hearts midfielder Saulius Mikoliūnas says he expects to complete a move to Swansea City.

The Lithuanian international will reject a similar contract offer from Austrian side Magna Wiener Neustadt to play in the Championship - where he says the League standard is 'better'.

Mikoliunas told futbolas.it:

"The signatures are not signed yet, but Swansea are the most probable outcome. I can`t say exactly when but I should be signing a contract any time soon"

"I chose Swansea because the league standard is better. I plan my career to continue in England so this was obviously a better choice than Austria".

"Both clubs offered about the same".

The 25 year-old spent 4 years with Scottish Premier League side Hearts, and made 89 appearances, scoring 12 goals. Last season he made 12 League appearances, scoring twice.

'Miko' can play on either flank in midfield and is right-footed. He has shown a lack of consistency during his spell with Hearts though which has been one of his major criticisms.

He showed his desire to leave Hearts earlier in the year as he wanted a fresh footballing challenge, he's been a free agent since the end of April.

Saulius looks set to become Swansea's second signing of the Summer following the early arrival of striker Stephen Dobbie. Another winger, Nathan Dyer will also join the Swans permanently after a fee was finally agreed, while the club are expected to have talks with Liverpool's Paul Anderson.

Be prepared for the Lithuanian equivalent of Drogba - not in the footballing stakes though - just the diving. What Martinez sees in him god only knows.

Well, he is another winger. Does this mean that next season we are going to play with 2 strikers?
