Allen: Wales Call Up is Dream Come True

Joe Allen was absolutely delighted after getting called up to John Toshack's senior Wales squad.

The under-21s regular, has impressed in midfield for the Swans and it's a wonder why it's taken Toshack this long to call him up to his squad.

"Good Luck Joe, hope you get a start, you've earned it."
Following Ferrie Bodde's season-ending injury towards the end of last year, Allen came in to replace him and did a superb job.

His highlight of the season was scoring a fantastic goal at Ninian Park against rivals Cardiff City to put us 2-1 up with a few minutes remaining. Referee Mike Dean prevented that from being the winning goal though when he gifted the Bluebirds a late penalty.

Joe Allen could make his senior debut against Estonia on Friday 29th May at Parc Y Scarlets and he's delighted:

'It's a dream come true to have been called up to represent my country, it's something that I've wanted to do for a long time.

'I was ecstatic when I found out that I'd been called up.'

'This call-up has come at a time when a lot of players are missing and there are a lot of spaces to fill, and I'm not going to be too disheartened if next time around when players are back in and I don't make it.

'But, hopefully, in the years to come I will be a regular in the national side.'

Well done Joe, you fully deserve it, you should have been called up sooner than this.
