Swansea Target Man Utd Keeper?

Today's News of the World report that Swansea City are targetting Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

With Dorus De Vries looking likely to leave the club when his contract expires next month, Roberto Martinez is on the lookout for replacements and the Manchester United youngster is the latest shot-stopper to be linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium.

Birmingham City's Colin Doyle has also been linked with a season-long loan to the Swans along with Scunthorpe's Joe Murphy.

Heaton spent last season on-loan with our arch rivals Cardiff City and he is looking to leave Old Trafford to play regular first-team football.

The 23 year-old impressed during his spell at Ninian Park and last month he told Wales Online:

"I have a year left on my contract and I`m due to go back in the summer - but I think I need to get away now and be playing.

"I`ve had a taste of it now and I don`t want it to stop.

"It`s the right time now. I want to be a Premier League goalkeeper and I need to prove I can do that.

"I will have to go and speak to the manager there and see what his thoughts are because he might have something else to say on the matter.

"But it`s hard at United with such top players in my way.

"I don`t want to wait around forever because I want to be a No 1 and in the England squad some day.

"I feel I can play in the Premier League and if I can do it with this club that would be brilliant.

"I`ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here [at Cardiff]. I love the club and it`s moving in the right direction - we`ll have to see what happens."

The Sunday newspaper also report that Nathan Dyer is a target for Dutch side Ajax.
