Dyer Deal Hits Another Snag

Dyer Deal Hits Another Snag

Southampton manager Mark Wotte has shown his frustration with the Swans for offering a lower bid for Nathan Dyer.

The Dutchman said a fee was agreed for Dyer a few months ago but he now feels they have changed their mind and offered a lesser bid for the right winger.

Wotte said earlier in the week that Swansea's recent bid has been rejected and unless they meet their value of the player, he won't be going anywhere.

Wotte said:

'During the season, somewhere in February or March, there was a deal with Swansea and I really think that they have to keep their word about this deal,'

'I don't see any reason why they had to come back with a lesser deal.'

'If they are willing to stand by that first deal then we can proceed.

"They offered half of this money a couple of weeks ago and now increased it a little bit, but it's still not good enough."

"The offer that has been made is still not good enough for this quality of player and I really would prefer to have Nathan back for Southampton."

If Swansea really want him then it has to be a respectable offer and right now it's not. It's up to Swansea."

In our current site poll, 78% of our readers voted that they'd rather the Swans signed Paul Anderon for the right wing role, 18% voted for Dyer with 4% preferring neither of them to join us.

i say lets just move on, seems to be going nowhere but surely soton are better off with the money the state they are in? we're also looking at anderson and another winger so maybe we could sign 1 of them instead.

Anderson will cost 3 times what dyer will, Swansea are doing to Southampton what teams try to do to us, get players on the cheap. Dyer is cheap at 500k, you all need to get used to higher prices in this league, we are not div 2 now
