Swansea Could Be Boosted With An Extra £800,000
Swansea City could receive around £800,000 this year if Reading win promotion to the Premiership.
The Swans are already guaranteed around £400,000 as Birmingham won automatic promotion to the top flight. The club won't receive their £11.2m parachute payment as they have made an instant return to the Premiership.
Instead, this money will be split between the Championship clubs - apart from the three that get relegated from the Premier League this season, plus Derby who will receive their own second instalment of parachute payments.
The £400,000 will be doubled if Reading get promoted via the play-offs as they too won't receive their payment having made an instant return to the Premiership.
The £800,000 estimated money we will receive if Reading win promotion together with the money we'll be given for finishing 8th in the Championship would give Martinez a good transfer budget this Summer, and could help to buy Jordi Gomez on a permanent basis.
