Dobbie Signs 3-Year Deal With Swansea City

Queen of the South striker Stephen Dobbie has passed a medical today and has agreed to sign a 3-year performance-related deal with the club.

Roberto Martinez has moved quickly to sign his man, who will join the Swans on a free transfer from the Scottish Division One side.

Dobbie said he was disappointed to leave the club, but it was an offer he simply couldn't refuse:

'I'm sad to leave Queen of the South as I felt I'd struck up a good bond with the fans those past two and a half years.

However, it's an offer I just couldn't refuse!

I'd like to say a big thank-you to the manager, the players, coaching staff at Palmerston and I'll never forget my time there.

'If I'm not playing any week don't be surprised to see me in the Stand watching Queens in action. Good luck to you all'.

The 26 year-old was a fans' favourite at Palmerston Park thanks to his goalscoring form during his 2 year spell.

Dobbie has scored 54 goals for Queen of the South in 87 starts. This season he netted 24 goals, 4 of which came in the 7-1 thrashing against Clyde.

The Scottish Sun also reported today that Stephen Dobbie will sign for a £6,000 weekly wage.

A different type of player to Scotland. Martinez said he was looking for players to give us something different to what we have.
