7 players are out of contract next month, but how many of them will stay?
Starting from the back, Dorus De Vries, our only goalkeeper at the club at present, is in talks about a new contract but he recently told BBC Sport that talks were going on 'forever'. Rumour has it he's looking for an improved deal, he told BBC Sport last week:
'It's just building up the contract,'
'It has to be correct and that's what we are waiting for.'
[Asked if he wants to stay] 'Yeah, of course, it's a lovely club, so why not,'
'I've enjoyed my time here and I'm still enjoying it. It's just wait and see.
'It's up to my agent and the chairman to come together and keep on talking.'
Vital Swansea Verdict: He'll stay and sign a new deal probably but I wouldn't be too surprised if he doesn't.
3 defenders are also out of contract. Fede Bessone, Matty Collins and Dennis Lawrence.
Fede Bessone is more likely to stay than go. Martinez admitted that some of his new signings were for the future, Serran being another. The Argentine hasn't featured much at left back, despite the fact that Marcos Painter has missed most of the season because of an injury.
Vital Swansea Verdict: Bessone to sign 1-year extension.
Matty Collins featured in the first team for a few games at the start of the season, in place of the suspended Angel Rangel, but after that he was mostly playing in the Reserves.
Vital Swansea Verdict: Offered a 2-year extension we believe, likely to stay.
Dennis Lawrence is another defender who's out of contract in June. He was a first team regular last year in League One, but Martinez decided to loan him out to Crewe rather than keep him in the starting 11 in the Championship.
Vital Swansea Verdict: To be released.
Andrea Orlandi told the press recently that he's unsure whether Martinez wants to keep him or not. The Swansea boss hasn't told him where his future lies but he wants to prove himself and stay at the Liberty Stadium. He's hardly had a run in the first team since he joined 2 years ago but in the games he has played, he's shown glimpses of quality and skill.
Vital Swansea Verdict: I hope he stays and I'd be a bit surprised if Martinez decided to release his fellow Spaniard. To sign a 1-year extension.
Kristian O'Leary, the longest serving player in the current squad (14 years), he's spent his whole professional career with the Swans but he hasn't featured in a single League game this season. The 31 year-old deserves to be playing regular first team football and enjoyed a decent loan spell at Cheltenham Town in the 2006/07 season.
Vital Swansea Verdict: He's not going to get a game with the Swans next year and he's much better off joining a League One or Two club.
Owain Tudur-Jones is similar to O'Leary, he's hardly played a League game this season and ended the year on loan at Swindon Town.
Vital Swansea Verdict: To move in the Summer.
