Agent: Scotland Will Stay If Offered A Better Deal

Jason Scotland's agent Mike Berry says that the striker will stay if the club offers him an improved contract.

Earlier in the week, the club's top scorer indicated that he'd consider a move away from the Liberty Stadium if a Premiership club were interested.

Berry says that Scotland would turn down the chance to play in the Premiership next season if the Swans offered him a new 3 or 4 year contract, to cement his long-term future here.

'I firmly believe that Swansea have got a jewel in Jason, and it makes sense to me for them to offer him a deal which will keep him at the club for another three or four years.

'To me, Jason at Swansea is a marriage made in heaven, so why let him go and then bring in an untried striker?'

Martinez has said that Swansea City don't need to sell their players as they don't need to raise funds and the Spaniard will be doing all he can in the Summer to keep his best players during the pre-season transfer window.

3 or 4 year deal?? He would have lost his edge in another 2 seasons so i don't think that's the best idea or we'd end up paying him thousands when we isn't good enough to get in the 1st team.

I would love it if Ipswich signed him . I had hoped we went for him last season, we might be in a better league position now.....Ah well!!!

A great season. looking foward to the swans having a better one next term. Stability has been the key. If that is maintained then who knows.

We are still in the same league for next season. If we are able to improve his terms, it may not be enough to keep him. He will only be with us next season if no approach is made from a Premiership club.

The agent's trying to be clever here, we couldn't give him a 3 or 4 year deal, as tini says he'll be struggling in a few years time. personally i'd take £2m for him if offered.
