Jenkins: No £1.5m Bid For Gomez

Jenkins: No £1.5m Bid For Gomez

Chairman Huw Jenkins says the club has not made a £1.5m bid for Jordi Gomez.

Last week the News of the World reported that, according to an 'insider', Roberto Martinez has recommended that the club bid £1.5m for the 23 year-old.

However, Huw Jenkins has insisted that Gomez's future depends on whether or not Espanyol get relegated from La Liga.

'There is no bid for Jordi,'

'As we have said all along, Jordi's situation is going to depend on what division Espanyol are playing in next season and that is still a long way from being decided.'

Swansea City will wait until the Summer to find out where Gomez's future lies and if Espanyol are looking to keep or sell the Spaniard.

Reports today also suggest that Liverpool have joined the ever-growing list of clubs who are tracking him. I'm not so sure whether the Reds will be interested in signing him but it seems that it's becoming increasingly unlikely that we'll be signing him on a permanent deal.

£1.5M is over valued by at least £1M.

If you compare it to other players and their transfer fees it's not far off.
