Martinez Hopes For Biggest Result Of The Year

Roberto Martinez says a win away at Sheffield United on Saturday would be their best result of the season.

The Swansea City boss will be looking to put a dent in their hopes of automatic promotion as the Blades trail Birmingham in 2nd place by 4 points.

The Swans look unlikely now to finish 6th as we're 4 points behind Burnley and 6 behind Cardiff City and Reading.

Still, Martinez will be looking to end on a high and finish with a maximum 74 points - and he told Wales Online he'll be happy with that whether or not we gain a play-off place.

"If we win, it will be, without a doubt, the biggest result of our season,"

"That`s not just because we need the points, but because we are playing a good Sheffield United team away.

"It would be a great sign of maturity to go there and get three points.

"It will be a big, big test. But, if I could choose a moment for us to have that test, it would be now.

"We have the experience of the whole season, we are in good form and the players are really confident.

"The injury situation is as good as it has been all season as well, so we are looking forward to the challenge.

"We know that they will push us to the limit, but I believe this squad is ready to cope. We haven`t peaked and challenges like this to keep growing."

"We just need to rely on ourselves and get the two wins.

"If we do that, I will be happy whether we are in the play-offs or not."

Saw United against Burnley and I was disappointed with their performance. I do believe we have a chance to win.
