Gomez: 'If Espanyol Don't Want Me, I'll Stay'
On-loan midfielder Jordi Gomez has given the Swans a major boost by saying he'd like to stay at the club if Espanyol don't want to keep him.
The La Liga club look set for relegation though and they look to Gomez for inspiration next season to propel them back to the summit of Spanish football.
On other side, Gomez might eye a permanent switch to Swansea City if we can get even closer next season to getting possible promotion to the Premier League.
The young midfielder has impressed immensely this season, adapting instantly to the British game, and showing skill and the ability to score some superb individual goals.
Those top class performances have caught the eye of a number of Premiership clubs, with reports linking him with moves to Newcastle United and Celtic.
Gomez told the News of the World:
'If Espanyol want me then I have to go back to Spain.
'But if they don't want me then I'd like to stay at Swansea. I'm very happy here.
'I really like the city and the fans. We have a good team, I'm happy with my team-mates and Roberto is a great manager. Everything is right.'
The 23 year-old has played a big role this season and is a strong contender for winning the Player of the year award.
