Newcastle Looking At Jordi Gomez?

Struggling Premiership side Newcastle United are apparently the latest club looking at a possible move for on-loan midfielder Jordi Gomez.

According to various reports, Newcastle assistant manager Chris Highton attended yesterday's game at Barnsley as Gomez helped the Swans win 3-1. He scored a superb goal to double our lead with a strike from 25 yards after creating our opener inside the first 2 minutes.

"The way he's playing now Espaniol could well see him as a big asset to their squad."
The Espanyol youngster has been one of our stand-out players this year and is definitely one of the favourites to win the player of the year award.

Gomez has scored 14 goals this season and he says he is waiting until the Summer before deciding where his future lies.

It's looking even more unlikely now that he will stay with the Swans, with clubs like Newcastle United and Celtic showing a keen interest.

However, if Newcastle United get relegated to join us in the Championship, would he still be tempted to join them?

Gomez staying with the Swans shouldn't be ruled out though, as it's all speculation at the moment. Martinez also says that whether or not Espanyol get relegated from La Liga will play a massive part on where Jordi will end up next season.

Do you think Jordi Gomez will stay at Swansea City next season?
