Bellamy: Wales Should Play In Swansea

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy says Wales don't deserve to be playing at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium, and should play at a smaller venue like the Liberty.

The Welsh national side struggle to fill a quarter of the Millenium Stadium and Bellamy says it would be better to play in front of a capacity crowd at the Liberty Stadium:

'It can be a little bit demoralising to play there in front of so many empty seats,'

'We want the opposition to be intimidated, not just think 'Oh this is a great ground to play at'. They can't be intimidated when there are 15,000 to 20,000 inside a 75,000-seater arena.

'At the moment we don't deserve the Millennium Stadium, if I'm honest. We need smaller venues to build things up again.

I'm Cardiff through and through and to play at our national stadium is great. But I think a smaller ground like the Liberty would be a fitting venue for us. We would fill it out and the pitch is brilliant.'

So far only 15,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday's game at home to Finland.

The Liberty Stadium has never staged a meaningful Welsh international but Wales have played there for friendly matches.

For once I agree with him but as if the Cardiff FA will move our games from Cardiff to Swansea.

I also must agree with this as the people of cardiff have given up on goin to watch us i travel from sheffield to every home game as iam oringinally from north wales and in the past few years specially under hughes the stadium was near full people have losted hope. But also do u think Wales are going forward iam half and half whether toshack should be the manager i think we havent made any process since hughes left and our world ranking shows u that. I think maybe its time for a change of manager someone younger with a bit more passion.
