Tate: 'I'll Be Back To Face Rivals Cardiff'

Defender Alan Tate says he promises to be back to face Cardiff City at Ninian Park in 2 weeks time.

The former Manchester United trainee has done a fine job playing out of position at left back and in an interview with the Official Site, he joked the squad can't cope without him after losing 2 games on the bounce.

Tate is looking forward to playing against Cardiff for the first time this season, he missed our 1-0 win in the Carling Cup and didn't feature in the 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium.

He said:

'I'll be back for the Cardiff game, I promise you.

'The ankle has recovered really well, far better than anyone expected, including myself.

'But I've worked hard on it, especially the first 48 hours after the injury. I spent all Saturday night and all day Sunday with my ankle in ice.

'I think it has done me a lot of good and I'm delighted I'm not going to be out for the two months some people were talking about.

'The Cardiff game is definitely my target. I've been involved in both games against them this season, but didn't manage to get on the pitch.

'Today's game against Sheffield has come a day or two too early, but I'll be fine for the Cardiff game.''

'There's no curse.

'What I have reminded the boys about, however, is the fact that the game and a half I've missed has seen them conceded four goals and lose them both.

i hope he'll be back, i'd much rather our defence gets back to rangel, monk, williams and tatey, it looked a lot stronger then.
