Martinez: Squad To Relax Over 2-Week Break

Martinez: Squad To Relax Over 2-Week Break

Roberto Martinez has insisted that his squad get some sun on their backs during their upcoming 2-week International break.

The Spaniard says he's encouraging the players to get away and relax in order to fully recover when they return for the remaining 6 games of the season.

He told the Evening Post:

'The international break is going to be split into three sections - passive recovery, active recovery and then preparation before we play again,'

'We have seen each other too much and it will be good for the players to have a little break.

'We will encourage them to get away.

'Ideally you want them to take the family away and switch off from football and all the intensity we have had. After that we will have a mini pre-season and then get ready for our last six games, but mentally the players need that break.'

its the easy life at scfc, play crap for too many games, lose 3 games and you get to relax in the sun! maybe its what the squad needs though, rather than more fitness/training
