Martinez: Monk Return Is A Big Boost

Roberto Martinez says Monk's return tonight will be a big boost as Swansea City travel to QPR.

The club captain has missed the last 4 games due to a back injury and consequently we've looked vulnerable at the back during his absence.

The Swans boss is likely to make 2 changes at the back, Monk could replace either Albert Serran or Ashley Williams while Matty Collins and Fede Bessone battle to replace the injured Alan Tate (ankle) at left back.

Martinez said:

'Garry is very influential on and off the pitch. It's a big boost to have your skipper available again.''

Martinez also said that his side will need to change and adapt to the poor playing conditions tonight at Loftus Road:

'The pitch is going to be a problem. But we will have to adapt and change the way we play a bit - as we had to do in League One last season,''

'But we won't use the pitch as an excuse. At the end of the day, good players can play anywhere.'
