Martinez: 'We Conceded Very Soft Goals'

Roberto Martinez said his side played with their hearts instead of their heads in today's 3-1 home defeat against Crystal Palace.

The Swans were unable to maintain their gap from the play-off teams as the likes of Preston, Burnley and Sheffield United all won to increase their chances of finishing within the top 6.

Martinez's side could have gone above Cardiff today and knocked our rivals down to 7th, but our defence made a number of costly errors to gift Warnock's side 3 points.

Martinez told BBC Sport after the game:

"It wasn't the result that we were looking for and we are disappointed with certain aspects of our play as we played with our heart instead of our head."

'Crystal Palace were well organised but defensively we conceded very soft goals, one from a set-piece and the other we didn't deal with a long ball and that is disappointing."

'We were focusing on the result and not the performance and that shows anxiety. We were not at our best, accepted it and allowed Crystal Palace to take the three points. They had three shots on target and scored three times. The 3-1 defeat doesn't reflect the game but we have to learn from that.'

Surely Tuesday's game away at QPR is a must win if we want to reach the play-offs this season.

Can Swansea City still finish in the play-offs? What were your thoughts on today's defeat?
