Rangel: Scotland Is Our 'Goal Machine'

Swansea City right back Angel Rangel paid tribute to our 'goal machine' Jason Scotland, who scored his 50th goal for the club this week.

The 30 year-old's penalty on Tuesday gave us a 1-0 home win against Plymouth, which saw us move up into 6th place, for 24 hours anyway.

It was his 21st strike of the season, and he's netted 50 times in less than 100 games - a remarkable achievement.

Angel Rangel told the Evening Post:

'He is our goal-machine and we believe in him.'

'When the game is a little bit close, he's always there to score a goal.

All the players are really pleased with him because the most difficult thing is scoring goals.

'I'm very proud of him, he's the player of the month and he's in great form.'

Rangel also added that it's getting tougher to maintain high standards with so many games in little time:

'We are playing so many games - Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday - that physically we are very tired and we can't play good football all the time.'

The Swans will be looking for another 3 points on Saturday when Crystal Palace visit the Liberty Stadium.

Burnley beat them 4-2 at home last night as they take over us in 6th.
