Sturrock: There Was A Lot Of Diving

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock felt there was a lot of diving going on from the Swansea players in yesterday's game.

by grandslam05
"Definite penalty thanks to your clumsy keeper who couldnt hold the 1st shot."
The Swans won the game 1-0 thanks to Jason Scotland's 78th minute winner from the penalty spot. The visitors meanwhile picked up 6 bookings in the game, which means they'll be fined by the FA.

Jordi Gomez was fouled for the spot-kick, but Sturrock said:

'The referee took a long time deliberating whether to give it or not.

'They are feeling sorry for themselves at this moment in time. They feel they have been unjustly done by.

'There were six bookings for us, unbelievable stuff - two or three of them didn't look as though they were bookings. They were a bit harsh. There was a lot of diving going on, I felt.

The Swans now go up into a play-off place for the first time this season and we'll stay there for the time being unless Burnley beat Crystal Palace this evening.

Argyle were lucky not to have had more bookings. The referee did an awful lot of talking to their players at the different incidents and appeared reluctant to give the yellow card.

agree, lucky to finish with all thier players on the field, maybe if they played football and not go around kicking teams they wouldn't be in trouble
