Sturrock: We Didn't Deserve To Lose

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock believed his side didn't deserve to lose tonight's game at the Liberty Stadium.

Sturrock disagreed with the penalty decision which Scotland converted to win us the game after 78 minutes, he told BBC Sport:

'I'm disappointed, I don't think we deserved to lose the game.

'The players feel the penalty wasn't a penalty. I would have to look at it. The referee took a long time deliberating before awarding the penalty.

"But we didn't do enough to win the game because the players were pushed back too far.

"Swansea did more than us and probably just about deserved to win as they missed a few chances that they should have scored from."

'I can't believe there were nine bookings, six for us. He was inconsistent.

'The boy [Ashley] Barnes had a chance after two or three minutes and it would have put a different complexion on the game.'

couldn't play us so you kicked us, as many teams do, the ref's need to put a stop to these teams

they did deserve to lose, just a shame we didn't make the score more convincing like we should have. disgraceful tactics, didn't come to play, came to foul, they deserve to go down with a manager like sturrock.
