Martinez: 'We'll Miss Monk's Influence'

Roberto Martinez will be without skipper Garry Monk again tonight and he says we'll miss his influence in the dressing room.

The centre back will miss his 3rd game now as we host Plymouth Argyle at the Liberty Stadium tonight.

He returned from a back problem at home to Charlton Athletic, but had to be taken off before the half-hour mark with a re-occurrence of his injury.

Martinez told the Western Mail:

'Garry is our club captain and not to have him around the dressing room, at half-time for example, you do miss him,'

'His influence is massive for us on and off the pitch. but you do not want to rush things particularly with a back injury. We will make sure he is 100%.

'You can only work with the players you have got and I am delighted with the way Albert Serran has been playing and that shows the strength of our squad.'

I doubted he'd be back this evening, no point risking him after last time, lets hope he can play a part on Saturday.

We will miss him tonight but no rush to get him back on the pitch. A fit Monk should hopefully be back for the last 7 or 8 games.
