Monk Doubtful For Plymouth Game

Garry Monk remains a doubt to play in tomorrow night's home game against Plymouth Argyle.

The Swansea City skipper made an early return from a back injury against Charlton a few games ago but had to come off less than 30 minutes into the game as a precaution.

Since then he's missed 2 games, away at Derby and Nottingham Forest respectively.

After bringing back into the starting line-up too early a few weeks ago, Martinez is highly unlikely to do the same tomorrow night.

Our defence has looked a little shaky without Monk amongst the back-line, with Williams himself admitting his partnership with Albert Serran, Monk's temporary replacement, needs to be stronger.

The centre-back could make the bench against Plymouth and then hopefully a full return on Saturday when we host Crystal Palace at the Liberty Stadium.

Vital Swansea will bring you a full preview of tomorrow's game later on this evening.

If he has another week off, then hopefully he will be fit for the remaining games of the season. We have certainly missed his leadership in the back 4 for the last few (5?) games.

I'll be very surprised if he starts tomorrow night. He's a doubt and rushing him back would be far too risky.
