Pintado Delighted To Score On His Return

Striker Gorka Pintado was delighted to score on his return following a hernia operation.

It didn't take him long to get back to his goalscoring ways, as 27 minutes after coming on as a substitute, he completed our comeback to draw 2-2 at Derby County.

Tom Butler made a good run into the box to feed Scotland, who did brilliantly to get the ball to the unmarked Pintado, who fired home from 12 yards.

Pintado has fond memories of his first goal for the Swans, completing a 3-1 win against Saturday's opponents Nottingham Forest, he told the Evening Post:

'That was a fantastic goal - I'd love to score another one like that,'

But it has been difficult since then as I've had to put up with a lot of pain.

'I am very happy to be back just three weeks after the operation, but I have to go step-by-step in the week because I am a little stiff.'

'I didn't see if the ball was over the line, because I saw the ball hit the crossbar,'

'I was just hoping it had gone in. I said to myself: 'come on, please go in'. It did and I was very happy for my team-mates.'

Pintado will be on the bench again on Saturday and would obviously love to grab another goal to help our push for the play-offs.

The £100,000 Summer signing from Grenada CF has struggled to show his true potential here because of his on-going hernia problems, hopefully now he can get back to his best.

He has a lot of strength, can win a header and has a lot of pace for a big player. He's scored 5 goals this season in 7 League starts, plus 23 appearances as a sub.

we've missed having him on the bench to come on when we're chasing a game, it hasnt taken him long to get a goal and its great to have him back.
