Clough Pleased With His Side's Performance

Derby County boss Nigel Clough was delighted with his side's performance, despite throwing away a 2-goal lead this evening as they drew 2-2 with Swansea City.

Porter grabbed a brace with goals either side of the break. He scored his second less than 3 minutes after the restart but Spanish duo Angel Rangel and Gorka Pintado scored to complete our comeback.

The Rams had a number of chances and troubled our defence and goalkeeper throughout the game. Hulse missed the target on a few occasions and they hit the woodwork twice.

Clough said his side couldn't have done anything more to get a win, he told their Official Site:

'I don't think we could have done too much more to get a victory this evening,'

'I thought the overall performance was as good as anything in the last seven or eight weeks.

'We are very encouraged by the way we performed against a quality team. We have played teams in and around us but Swansea are one of the best teams we have played against.

Clough also believed a number of decisions didn't go their way. They had a goal ruled out in the second half for offside, they were denied a penalty in the second and we won a free-kick which led to our first goal.

He added:

'One of these days we'll get a decision as well.

'We think we have been denied a penalty, we didn't think Rob's goal was offside, and we didn't think it was a free-kick that led to their first goal.

'They are the decisions that are not going our way at the moment.'
