'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pintado Relishing Chance To Impress

Striker Gorka Pintado says he can't wait to get back to playing his best football - something we've yet to see since he joined us in the Summer.

The former Grenada CF forward has been struggling all season with on-going hernia problems and has been playing through the pain barrier.

He finally had an operation recently to cure the problem, and hopefully now we'll get a chance to see what he's really capable of.

Pintado impressed immensely on his debut, in the 3-1 home win against Nottingham Forest. His goal was a touch of class, getting on the end of a cross to toe-poke the ball into the far right corner from just inside the box.

A goal that could be watched on repeat, he scored 2 more in 7 League starts for the Swans, including a crucial equaliser against our arch rivals Cardiff City.

Pintado is now hoping to play his part in helping the Swans reach the top 6 this season, he told the Western Mail:

'I think I can start playing my best football again now,'

'I want to do well for Swansea and I hope this is my chance to help the team.

'It would be great for the fans to see more of my tricks and skills now. And, of course, I would love to score some important goals for the team.'

'The injury was terrible for me and I kept picking up small niggles. I'd never had so many before and it was really difficult.'

3 goals in 7 games is very good for a player not at 100% and carrying an injury. that goal was soemthing special, i cant wait to see him playing at his best.
