Bodde: I'm Recovering Well

Swansea City midfielder Ferrie Bodde says he's recovering well from his knee injury which has ended his season.

He's been out since November 21st when he picked up the injury during our 3-2 home defeat against Birmingham.

Many of us wrote off our chances of reaching the play-off places after losing one of our best players for the remainder of the season.

Instead, the Swans went on a 16-match unbeaten run, and along with Pratley's recent injury as well, we've proven we can cope well without our star players.

Bodde has been impressed with the team, he told Wales Online:

"To be honest, I`m not sure that any of us have been really missed.

"They have won without us.

"Obviously, we would like to be in the side, but they haven`t struggled without us.

"The lads are winning games and have been playing well. They played Fulham off the park. It shows everyone is replaceable.

"I think what the squad has shown this season is that we can cope, no matter who is missing from the side.

"Every player we have here has shown what they can do. This can only be good for the club.

"Some guys have shown they can sit on the bench for half a season, but when they are called on they are strong. That is good for us.

"Everybody is very positive about the future at this club."

Bodde now says he's aiming to return ready for pre-season, rather than to feature in May if we manage to extend our season by finishing in the play-offs.

The Dutchman added:

"We have had real bad luck this season with injuries, particularly in midfield. "

"If you look at my injury and Darren`s, they are just unfortunate. It is not like they are muscle problems or a hamstring - it is just in many ways bad luck from a fall or something like that.

"I have a target to return, but anything can happen to set you back. I could say in 10 weeks, 20 weeks, 50 weeks, but that is just my idea in my head.

"I think this season is gone for me, but things are progressing well. I believe I will be ready for pre-season. That is my aim now anyway."

we'd be in the play-offs now if he was playing, same if pratley was. we've done well without them but dropped too many points when we should have won, pratley and bodde would have made the difference, especially in some of those 8 consecutive draws we had.
