Rodgers Delighted After 2-0 Win Against Swans

Watford boss Brendan Rodgers was delighted with his side's performance in their 2-0 win against Swansea City this evening.

2 first half goals within 9 minutes sealed the win which sees the Hornets rise out of the relegation zone.

Rodgers told BBC Sport:

'It's in our hands now and we play a lot of the teams around us.

'We are better than our position suggests and we are still improving game by game. Hopefully we will stay out of there now.

'That was terrific. It was a very good performance in the first half and tactically we were outstanding.

'They play 4-3-3 and that is a system I know well from my time at Chelsea. We matched them up and we used it well defensively and offensively.'


It was a rare occurance that Swansea City simply failed to get going, and struggled throughout to create clear cut chances on goal.

Whether it was a hangover from the FA Cup or not, hopefully it'll end and we'll put things right again when Doncaster visit the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

one game and one win against an in-form side and the were getting really confident at the ground, still a long season for them but they should avoid a relegation battle soon.

I think they have enough quality to avoid a relegation scrap come april and may. i'll be surprised if they're not well clear by then.
