'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez's Reaction To Watford Defeat

Roberto Martinez shares his views after losing his first match in 16 games tonight at Watford.

Swansea City were unable to make ground of their fellow play-off hopefuls as the Hornets scored 2 goals in 9 minutes to claim 3 very valuable points.

Martinez admitted his side failed to adapt to the conditions:

'It was a disappointing defeat from our point of view. We never adapted to what was needed today to win a football game.

Obviously the conditions - it was a typical night when you have to be ready for the fight in off-the-ball situations.'

'You need to make sure that you sense danger well and you are solid first and foremost and today we probably put too much of our focus on the ball and once we wanted to wake up we were 2-0 down. '

'I thought Watford were as you expected, had huge desire and a huge tempo.'

Swansea City will be looking to put things right again on Saturday when we host Doncaster at the Liberty Stadium.
