Allen Dreams Of Playing Against Man United
Joe Allen is hoping to play against Manchester United, a club he has supported since he was a kid.
The 18 year-old dreams of playing against his heroes, the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs who have inspired him having come through the ranks youth at Old Trafford.
Allen doesn't mind admitting he was a glory hunter supporting the Red Devils, and said:
|'Paul Scholes is someone I have always admired as a footballer,'|
'He is a player I try to pick things up from and then emulate.
'Then obviously, as a Welshman, there is Ryan Giggs as well.
'He is another hero of mine. He is a player who is known and admired around the world, and for that to be true of a Welshman just shows how special he is.
'He is someone who has inspired me along with many other people I'm sure.
'To play against those two would be a very nice experience.'
'I'm obviously just a glory hunter,'
'To be fair my family all supported Manchester United. so I just followed the trend.
'It was the draw I wanted because I've supported them since I was a little kid.
'And I think it was probably the draw pretty much every Swansea fan was hoping for.
'To play at home is massive, but to do it against the best team in the world is something to dream about.
'The only disappointment when I was watching the draw was that we are not through to the quarter-finals already.'
Joe Allen has been one of Swansea City's most improved players this season, after struggling slightly early on in the campaign.
A loan move to fellow Welsh side Wrexham seemed to do him the world of good and he has come back as a first team regular, replacing our best midfielder, Ferrie Bodde.
