Scotland: 'We're Ready For The Premiership'

Top scorer Jason Scotland says he and other members of the squad are ready for the step up to the Premiership.

The Swans have shown that they can cope against Premier League opposition. Firstly beating Portsmouth at Fratton Park 2-0 before drawing 1-1 against Fulham on Saturday, a result that could have been far different in our favour.

Scotland has hit fine form this year, scoring 12 goals in the last 12 goals including his equaliser on Saturday to give us a replay at Craven Cottage.

He told the Western Mail:

'You always have to think you are ready to play in the Premiership,'

'It might not work out for you. You might be setting yourself up for a fall, but you must believe you are ready to take the step up.

'I've been doing it against Premiership opposition now, against Portsmouth and Fulham.

'But I am not the only one, there are plenty of boys in our dressing room who believe they are ready as well.

'You can't look too far ahead, but hopefully it will happen for us.'

'I think I have answered those who said I could not do it in the Championship or who thought I could only do it for one season,'

'The season has not finished yet, so I am just going to keep my head down and see how far I can take things.'

'To be honest, we feel a little disappointed we did not win the game at home, but we will go there and just play the way we always do.

'People will say it's going to be tough and it will, but we have just got to be ourselves. Hopefully then it will be a good day for us.'

We proved the Portsmouth win wasn't just a one-off cup special and again we've outplayed and outperformed a much more stable Premiership team who are comfortable there in mid table.
