Ferguson Impressed By Swansea's Cup Display

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said he was impressed by Swansea's cup performance yesterday.

The Swans drew 1-1 at home to Fulham but we should have won the tie after an impressive performance against Hodgson's side.

Manchester United beat Derby away today 4-1 to progress through to the quarter-finals, while Swansea have an excellent incentive to go to Craven Cottage and grab a win.

Ferguson told ITV:

"You obviously take a home tie in a cup tie,"

"I watched Swansea in Saturday`s game against Fulham and they played very well.

"It was a very impressive performance and I don`t think that that tie is finished.

"Either way we are one step away from the semi-finals so it is a big incentive to the players and hopefully our form stays as it is at the moment which has been very good."

Swansea City are back in League action on Tuesday night as they travel to Watford.

Our replay at Craven Cottage will be played on Tuesday 24th February.

Ello guys, Im a Pompey fan. I watched you guys want it more and out play us in your 0-2 win (as much as it hurt!), and also watch you out play Fulham at the weekend and you should have won!! I'd love to see you guys go up against Man U and win the final now. As gutted as I was to see us get knocked out, I gotta say, you really do have a good team, and play great football. so good luck, and Im routing for you now!

ps: shame you got a southampton player!!! :)

Thanks Charlie, we should have won by 3, just a shame Gower's bad luck is continuing as he missed 2 more great chances to get his first goal for us. It will be harsh for us to go out now as we deserve a quarter final tie with Man Utd after the way we played on Saturday. I think most United fans would prefer a trip to the Liberty than another to Craven Cottage.
