Toshack Predicts All Welsh Play-Off Final

Former manager and current Wales boss John Toshack is predicting a Swansea vs Cardiff Championship play-off final.

Toshack complimented both clubs and their progress so far this season and revealed that the Swans have proved his pre-season predictions were wrong.

While John and many others thought we'd struggle in this League with a lack of experience in the side, Martinez's squad have excelled and look a good bet to achieve a top 6 finish this year.

Cardiff City also look set for a play-off place at least, and they'll also have their sights on automatic promotion, being 8 points behind 2nd placed Reading with 2 games in hand.

Toshack told Wales Online:

"It`s on the cards, it really is,"

"Dave Jones is doing a terrific job for Cardiff and they look really solid, while for me Roberto Martinez at Swansea is manager of the season, let alone manager of the month.

"They could meet in the play-off final. Who would I support? It would have to be my country, Wales, on the day.

"Whether that would be South Wales or West Wales I really couldn`t say.

"Being selfish, I do wish there were more Welsh players in their teams.

"That`s not a criticism because both clubs are making tremendous progress, but it would help my cause as Welsh manager if there were a few more Welsh players in their squads."

"When the season started I felt that if Roberto Martinez could keep them out of the bottom six at the end of the season he would have done a terrific job.

"Look where they are! It`s incredible what they have achieved so far. When you look at the team there is scarcely anybody with a full season of Championship football.

"They have surpassed anything I felt they could do. There is still a difficult time of the season to get through - Pratley and Bodde are big misses.

"But I hope they continue to push on this season."

that would be the best play-off final ever!
GThomas
would it ??, how would you feel if we lost ???, do you think there would be much crowd trouble ???, police would have no chance, fighting at every service station, london uderground, all around wembley, would not imo be a safe day for the youngsters
cyjax
come to think of it it might be best avoided! would be good for welsh football but the crowd trouble could hurt the reputation
GThomas
If we continue with our present form, we could finish the season in second place.
