Scotland: 'Squad Has Premiership Belief'

Vital Swansea's January Player of the Month Jason Scotland says the squad have the belief that they can play in the Premiership.

That belief came after beating Portsmouth 2-0 at Fratton Park, to knock the FA Cup winners out of the competition.

Martinez's side have another chance of proving themselves against top flight opposition when we host Fulham next Saturday in the 5th Round.

The Swans have a chance of making their dreams become a reality in August as we currently looking good for a play-off place.

If we can maintain our current form, we should be guaranteed a play-off spot as we haven't lost in the last 15 games.

Jason Scotland said:

"We don't want to get too high and we don't want to say too much, but I think since the Portsmouth win the guys have been thinking we could play in the Premier League."

"It's one thing beating a Premier League team in the cup and another doing it over a whole season, but that's the dream for me as a player and I'm sure it's the same for the rest of the lads."

''If we keep our heads down and keep quiet, we feel we can reach the play-offs and that we'll have a chance. It would be a great achievement just to finish in the top six in our first season in this league. "

"We're playing some great stuff and teams are coming to the Liberty and thinking they are going to be played off the park. I think the style we play would serve us well in the Premier League."

Scotland has proved his critics wrong by continuing his impressive goal scoring record that he achieved in League One.

Some people thought he wouldn't cope at a higher level, and while he did start the season quite slowly, he's hit form and has scored 11 goals in the 11 games.

He's notched up 16 goals so far this season and he is surely going to hit the 20 figure soon.

playing and beating a struggling prem team is something but no way we could cope in a whole season. i think we'll get in the play-offs this year.
