Dyer Deal Set to Break Transfer Record

Swansea City are preparing to break the club's trasfer record in order to make Nathan Dyer's loan move a permanent deal.

The Evening Post are reporting that Huw Jenkins is prepared to spend more than £500,000 for the talented winger who has made a big impression in his short time at the club.

The price for the 21 year-old could rise to anything up to £750,000 as the Swans may look to get the deal done before the January transfer window closes.

If the deal does go through, it will nearly double the current record fee paid; £400,000 for Ashley Williams from Stockport County.

With Dyer's parent club Southampton in financial difficulties, Roberto Martinez may be able to get his man at a cut down price from the £1.2 million fee that the Saints had agreed with Sheffield United for the winger.

But Dyer wasn't able to make the same impact he has at the Liberty during his spell with the Blades, and if he continues to impress between now and the end of the season then City may be competing with some much wealthier clubs for the youngsters signature.
